Heaven

The heat wraps me in a blanket and my toes are cold, sand between each one. Moving up with a steady breath, the cold wet sensation. My eyes flutter open and closed adjusting to the bright sun. The cuts on my hands and knees stings from the salty water. My skirt is covered in dirt, torn all through the hem. My sleeves float along the waves. My corset hopefully at the bottom of the ocean. I try shifting to my feet when my knees buckle and I tumble to the sand cutting my cheek on a shell. I awake to a new world. Tall trees that cover so much sun only rays shine through. Wet soft ground that crumbles through your hands. Again I hope to stand and I tumble once more landing on a rock. I awake again, and a again, and a again. Never ending dream of sights I’ve never seen. I hope this is heaven.
